Wendy Lands’s new disc, Mumble, will appeal to fans of Norah Jones, Emilie-Claire Barlow and other varieties of smart, sophisticated, slightly jazzy urban pop. On the album, Lands sings her original material in a refreshingly flesh-andblood, intimate voice, with understated and empathetic backing. Sounds just about perfect for a live setting. Catch her Wednesday evening at Upstairs, 1254 Mackay St., at 8: 30, 9: 45 and 11 p.m. Admission costs $15, except for the final show, which is free. Phone 514-931-6808 for reservations.
