Pat Labarbera
Ottawa bassist John Geggie is thrilled be able to assemble a quartet of some of Canada's most engaging modern jazz musicians; featured for this concert will be Toronto based and world renowned saxophonist Pat Labarbera (whose credits include concerts and recordings with Buddy Rich and Elvin Jones), Montreal's own Josh Rager on piano, Toronto drummer Nick Fraser and John Geggie on double bass. Geggie has a long working relationship with both Rager and Fraser and things will take on a more compelling nature with the inclusion of Labarbera. States Geggie, 'I have had the pleasure and honour of playing with Pat and he truly one of this country's most treasured and highly respected improvising musicians as well as educators....it will be a night to remember.'
