
Born in Montreal, Eric Boxerman spent his early years in the Netherlands, where he discovered his passion for music at the age of five. A pianist with a strong focus on jazz, Eric draws inspiration from legends like Mulgrew Miller, Chick Corea, Bud Powell, and Cedar Walton. He leads a trio in Montreal, specializing in jazz standards with unique arrangements.
Since 10 years old, Gelin taught himself to play the trumpet simply by emulating his favorite records After years of self-tutelage, Adrian D’Aguilar, bass player, began to mentor him; thereby, providing him the tools to play jazz. In the span of three years, Gelin has played with pioneers of the NY jazz scene such as Curtis Lundy, Bobby Watson, Roy Hargrove, Sullivan Fortner, Wynton Marsalis, Ben Wolfe, and Jon Batiste. Additionally, the 21-year-old trumpeter is the protege of the late, Roy Hargrove.
