Fraser Hollins has been praised as “one of Canada’s great bassists.” Don Thompson – Canadian Jazz Multi-Instrumentalist. A priority in his artistic growth has been to develop versatility in many styles and idioms because of his sincere love for many musical cultures and genres. This has proven an invaluable quality for him as he has led an enriching musical life for the past 15 years in Montreal, and, for a few years, in New York City.
His playing demonstrates “highly imaginative and creative spontaneous music making.” Craig Hurst – Jazz Review.com. Fraser is an in-demand sideman, and his contribution as a rhythm section player is valued for the “strong foundation” he gives the music while at the same time providing “much more than the requisite maintenance of the beat.” Joanne Villeneuve – The Brandon Sun.

Fraser Hollins: Double Bass and Electric Bass
Samuel Blais: Alto and Baritone Saxophones, Clarinet

Hailing from East Orange, New Jersey, he has played in numerous cities across the world from Hong Kong to New York and now makes his home in Montréal. He emerges as a fully-formed master of hard-driving swing with a deep feeling for the blues and ballads.

His lyrical, hard-swinging style first gained him broad recognition during the 1990’s while working with the bands of jazz legends Art Blakey, Jackie McLean, Chick Corea’s acclaimed sextet Origin and the renowned cooperative sextet, One For All. Ever in-demand as a sideman, Davis is featured on over seventy recordings and has worked in recent years with a broad range of jazz icons including Horace Silver, Cecil Payne, Larry Willis, Freddie Hubbard (w/ New Jazz Composers Octet), The Dizzy Gillespie Alumni All-Star Big Band/Sextet, Slide Hampton`s World of Trombones, Wynton Marsalis (w/ Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra) and Steve Turre’s One 4 J. Event Details
Recognized by Radio Canada’s Ici Musique as one of the top five female Jazz musicians to watch out for, French-American singer Laura Anglade is making a name for herself in the Jazz world. Laura’s singing is reminiscent of many of the great traditional vocal stylists of the 20th century including Anita O’Day, Shirley Horn, and Blossom Dearie, but her voice is uniquely her own. As she digs emotionally and eloquently into a lyric, her story-telling abilities portray a soul beyond her years.
Laura leads an active international touring schedule and has performed at venues including Olympia (Paris), Royal Festival Hall (London), Town Hall (New York City), the Ace Theatre Hotel (Los Angeles), and the main stage at the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal. She opened for Gregory Porter at the Victoria Jazz Festival (summer 2022), and Melody Gardot (fall 2022), joining her across the east and west coasts of the US and Europe. She is currently based in Toronto.
