Martin Gioani made a strong impression at Upstairs last June, during the Festival Django de Montréal in front of a packed house. His Django Reinhardt-inspired compositions and improvisations favour lyricism over virtuosity.
Accompanied by three accomplished musicians, Gioani’s music takes you on a journey through time but also through the countries that inspire his compositions: his native France, Quebec (naturally), and stopovers in Brazil and Mexico, so fasten your seatbelts!
