Matthew John Slim, known as Mat Jon, is a jazz pianist and composer in Montreal, Quebec. Specializing in improvisational music, he draws inspiration from swing music and jazz composers. Mentored by pianist Josh Rager and Min Rager, Mat Jon has performed extensively in Montreal. Currently completing his undergraduate studies at Concordia University, he continues to establish himself on the local jazz scene. Influenced by legends like Mulgrew Miller, Kenny Kirkland, Bud Powell and Ray Brown.
