Mike Bruzzese launches his new album Another Space on Bent River Records, joined by an all-star ensemble featuring two of New York City’s finest: Ben Solomon on saxophone and Adam Arruda on drums, alongside one of Montreal’s top bassists, Mike De Masi. The band will perform music from the new record and more, bringing together some of today’s most compelling improvisers for a powerful live experience.
Ben Solomon, a member of Wallace Roney’s Quintet from 2012–2017, refined his musical identity through collaborations with legends such as Buster Williams, Lenny White, Patrice Rushen, Ron Carter, and Gary Bartz. In 2016, he performed two nights with Chick Corea at the Blue Note, and in 2023 appeared with the Aaron Parks Quartet at the Village Vanguard. He is also the author of two saxophone etude books titled Chromatophores.
Adam Arruda is among New York’s most in-demand drummers, having performed with Kurt Rosenwinkel, Brad Mehldau, Greg Osby, 3WI, and Dayna Stephens, among many others.
