Tim Jackson (1951-2025) was a fixture on the Montreal Jazz scene for decades. His contributions to the musical community, as well as the night life this city is so well known for, were innumerable. He played with numerous trios and quartets but was best known for his duo with longtime bass player Skip Bey (1937-2004).
Tim’s specialty was his use of chords to create a rich sound that was heard in numerous jazz clubs, radio recordings, and live performances. He also refined the voice-leading method of accompanying singers that highlighted their unique sound and style. He was the quintessential performing artist.
Please join us on January 13th, 2026, for a tribute to the man and his music.
